LAYER TECH was commended for its Froglift Vacuum Layer Picker at the 2008 WorkSafe Victoria awards held in Melbourne recently.
The device was selected from over 130 entries in the ‘Best Solution for preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders’ category in a joint submission with Toll In2Store.
The Froglift system is a materials handling attachment said to reduce workplace injuries that can be directly attributed to manual handling hazards.
In addition to eliminating OHS risks, the system is said to boost productivity by up to 500%, achieving a pick rate of more than 600 cartons per man hour.
The winners were announced at a gala dinner held at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne on 30 October 2008 as part of Safe Work Australia Week.
The WorkSafe Victoria awards are held each year to acknowledge individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to improving workplace health and safety.
