Coastal Midwest Transport uses Intermec CN3 computers for freight tracking

FREIGHT pickup and distribution company Coastal Midwest Transport is tracking its warehouse and trucking operations with the help of technology from Interdev and Intermec.

The company wanted to improve its delivery accuracy and efficiency, and make their operations more transparent. It commissioned Interdev to provide the technology for monitoring its warehouse and trucks, allowing clients to accurately track deliveries from despatch to arrival.

Interdev installed the Transporta dispatch system to track freight logistics as they entered and departed out of depots.

The solution also involved the implementation of Intermec GPS-enabled CN3 handheld computers from Gamma Solutions, used to scan barcodes and assignment notes and proof of delivery signatures.

All freight delivery drivers, operations personnel and members of the dispatch staff will be able to use the freight logistics technology at various stages of the transportation process. Customers can also make use of the data to track their deliveries.
