BONFIGLIOLI says it is now assembling advanced low-maintenance helical drives in Australia.
Bonfiglioli has commissioned a complete assembly and testing line in Sydney dedicated to HDP parallel shaft and HDO bevel helical drives. The new Bonfiglioli line will assemble gear drives from 14,000 to 125,000 Nm, cutting delivery times out of Europe by more than half.
Equipment at the facility includes a 12t overhead crane, a surface grinder, a special purpose assembly press and testing machine, and specialist assembly tools such as heavy duty induction heaters, hydraulic torque wrenches and assembly jigs.
These drives are said to deliver outstanding torque per dollar, high casing strength, long-life bearing and quieter, trouble-free operation.
The Bonfiglioli HD series of drives is said to have a new modular design, allowing them to be assembled remotely around the world, according to customer requirements. They are used as main drives in high power applications such as conveyors and cranes.
Bonfiglioli says the new line will also allow quicker response to customer needs on customized drives for heavy duty applications in mining, energy, manufacturing, materials handling, water and waste water applications.
According to Bonfiglioli, its research into the drives will be enhanced by the assembly and testing facility in Australia, which houses high-precision assembly and quality testing facilities.
